Academic Programs
With
its roots in the 1800s and its focus toward the 21st century, the University
of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine continues a tradition
of innovation within its academic programs, preparing its graduates
to become leaders in dental practice, teaching, and research.

DMD Program
This program awards a DMD degree to students.
Graduate Dental Education
Once a student has earned a DMD, he or she may choose to pursue postgraduate programs and residencies. Those interested in post-graduate study may also choose to pursue a Master of Science in Oral Biology; in most cases, concurrent clinical specialty training is recommended.
Program for Advanced Standing
Students (PASS)
This program is designed to educate foreign-trained dental graduates
for practice
in the United States.
Dual-Degree Options
This program gives students the option to pursue a DMD as well as a second program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Doctoral Degree in the Dental Sciences
This program is intended for those wishing to pursue study in the dental sciences beyond the master's level.
Bio-Dental Consortial Programs for High School Students
These programs enable qualified students to earn both their BS and DMD degrees.
