Oral Medicine Residency Program
For
over 40 years, the Oral Medicine Residency Program at Penn Dental Medicine has
been at the forefront in training qualified oral medicine specialists
and promoting the study of medical related issues in dentistry.
Over the course of a 24-36 month clinical residency, residents get the
hands-on training necessary to treat medically complex patients, diagnose
and treat oral mucosal and salivary gland diseases, and treat orofacial
pain syndromes, leading to a Certificate
in Oral Medicine and/or a Master
of Science in Oral Biology.
All applicants must have a DMD/DDS degree. Preference
will be given to
applicants with additional training such as a General Practice Residency
program or dental experiences and training beyond undergraduate dental
school.
