Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency / M.D. Program

The six-year integrated M.D./OMS graduate program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, and is designed to fulfill the requirements proposed by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Qualified candidates are accepted into the program, which includes the awarding of a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, a two-year certificate of General Surgery and a certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The dual-degree track has been carefully designed to provide a comprehensive approach to both the medical school and residency components of the program. Candidates who complete the program are eligible for examination by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
