A DMD/DDS degree is required for admission to all graduate dental education programs. Applicants to pediatric residency program must also be graduates of an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school.
All students can apply to the program through the Postdoctoral Application Support Service (PASS) with the American Dental Education Association via the PASS web site.

In addition to the PASS application, applicants are required to submit the following to the Office of Graduate Education at Penn Dental Medicine for applications to be considered complete and presented to the Admissions Committee:
In addition, the The Advanced Dental Admission Test will be accepted but is not required. It is offered under the auspices of the Department of Testing Services, an independent agency of the American Dental Association. The ADAT will provide advanced education program directors with the ability to rank applicants in areas of interest using a nationally standardized and objective test.
