Research Interests:
Dr. Iqbal is an Assistant Professor of Endodontics-Clinician Educator, Director of the Postgraduate Program in Endodontics and Director of Division of Advanced Dental Education at Penn Dental Medicine. His research interests include root canal instrumentation techniques and instruments, dental traumatology, prognosis of different endodontic techniques and therapies, and development of computer programs for storing clinical endodontic data. His studies on these subjects have been published in the Journal of Endodontics, Dental Traumatology, Oral Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology and Endodontics, International Journal of Prosthodontics and International Endodontic Journal. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Endodontics. His other interests include using 3D studio software for development of computer animations for teaching purposes. Dr. Iqbal has also lectured at both the international and national level. His teaching responsibilities include lectures and clinical supervision in undergraduate courses and course directorships in postgraduate endodontic courses. He has a DMD from Penn Dental Medicine, and a master's degree and certificate in Endodontics from University of Minnesota. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.
