| Course Schedule
Our 2-day, 16 CDE-credit course is designed for participants to incorporate
new skills and knowledge into their practice immediately. At the completion
of the course, participants will have learned various NT rotary file
systems, thermoplastic filling techniques, usage of ultrasonic instruments,
perforation repair using MTA, and removal of solid materials from
the canals with the aid of the operating microscope.
Lectures

The
most effective and efficient techniques for conventional and retreatment
microendodontics are presented. Multimedia presentatations show the
latest techniques using Lightspeed, Profile series and other rotary
nickel titanium (NT) file systems for instrumentation. Various modern
thermoplastic filling techniques are shown under the operating microscope
to illustrate the improved handling and obturation.
If
you still use K-files, the stepback, lateral and warm condensation techniques,
you will be amazed by the increased speed and accuracy with which endodontics
can be performed using an operating microscope, engine driven NT rotary
files, System-B, Root ZX , radiovisiography and other state-of-the-art instruments.
Topics covered in the Lectures include:
- Why NT files are better than stainless steel files
- Why NT file systems will be the future of endodontics
- New efficient and predictable thermoplastic filling techniques
- Incorporation of ultrasonic instruments; safe and efficient alternatives
- Removal of posts, silver points and separated files with ease
and confidence with CPR tips
- Positioning of the microscope for maximum efficiency and comfort
- Predictable identification of accessory canals under the microscope
- Location of calcified canals under the scope by recognition of
dentin color change; negotiation and preparation with speed and
accuracy
- Successful and predictable management of furca perforations under
the scope with MTA
- Discussion of cases
This
intensive hands-on training program is designed to familiarize participants
with several rotary NT file systems under the operating microscope
to help them become comfortable using state-of-the-art microendodontic
techniques.
Hands-on
demonstrations and close supervision by our experienced staff will
assure an optimal learning experience.

Training Stages:
Stage
1: The Operating Microscope
Participants learn how to use the microscope including focusing, parfocaling,
mirror usage and positioning on Global, Jedmed/Kaps, Leica, Möller,
Seiler, and Zeiss microscopes.
Stage 2: Rotary NT File Systems
Rotary NT file systems, Lightspeed, Profiles and other systems are
used on extracted teeth under the microscope. Participants learn cleaning
and shaping of curved canals with efficiency and ease, and how to
avoid breaking files.
Stage 3: Thermoplastic Filling
Using System-B, thermoplastic and alpha-phase gutta
percha filling techniques, as well as new hybrid filling techniques are practiced
on prepared teeth.
Stage 4: Hybrid NT File Technique
Emphasis is placed on using two or more NT file systems along with
hand-instruments and Balanced Force Technique to take advantage of
the best each has to offer. This stage is for those who wish to develop
their own technique using NT rotary file systems.
Stage 5: Ultrasonic Instruments
Participants practice removal of silver points, posts and broken instruments
with CPR and BUC ultrasonic instruments and specially designed micro-instruments
under the microscope.
Stage
6: Perforation Repair
Special emphasis is placed on management of procedural errors, especially
repairs of furca and root perforations using MTA.
