Dr. Quinn is Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Pharmacology-Clinician Educator. He served as Schoenleber Chair of the School's Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Pharmacology and as Chair of the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery within the Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania from 1986 to July 2008. Effective July 1, 2008, he has been appointed as Vice Dean for Professional Services for the School of Medicine and Senior Vice President of the Health System for Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he is co-director of the multi-disciplinary TMJ and Facial Pain Clinic at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. His primary research interests are in the alloplastic reconstruction of the temporomandibular joint and vascular malformations of the maxillofacial skeleton. He was a principal investigator in a ten-year clinical trial for the only FDA approved stock prosthesis for reconstruction of the temporomandibular joint. Dr. Quinn has completed a surgical atlas for temporomandibular joint surgery, which has been published by Elsevier. He has received both the Earle Banks Hoyt Award and the Lindback Award in recognition for distinguished teaching. In 2002, he was recognized as Health System Champion for the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
