Geriatric Research
The current research is focused towards further testing the effectiveness of the educational program entitled, "Take Charge of Your Oral Health" which is aimed at community-residing African American elders that attend senior centers in West Philadelpia. The program is designed to raise awareness of oral signs and symptoms that require professional dental care, as well as, increase awareness of the links between oral health and overall health. The program was recently pilot tested in senior centers in North Philadelphia.
