Course Description:

This two-day course will provide you with up-to-date information on achieving optimal success with non-surgical periodontal therapy. The lecture will address five key elements – diagnosis, treatment planning, case presentation/education, instrumentation, and re-care/monitoring – that are crucial to success in recognizing and treating the periodontally susceptible patient as well as the patient with active periodontal disease. The second day will feature four hands-on workshops, focusing on traditional manual instrumentation, advanced manual instrumentation, ultrasonic instrumentation, and instrument sharpening.

This course will enable you to:

  • Provide the highest level of preventive, therapeutic, and maintenance care for your patients.
  • Calibrate non-surgical periodontal therapy and periodontal maintenance within your practice.
  • Identify risk factors leading to periodontal disease susceptibility and/or active periodontal disease.
  • Adequately "educate to motivate" your patients to change their behavior.
  • Maximize case presentation and acceptance.
