Course Description:

The basic tenets of Periodontal Prosthesis hold true today as they have for the past six decades. However, with a better understanding of the etiology of periodontal disease, the advent of plastic and regenerative procedures, and the incorporation of dental implants, entirely new vistas are available to us today.

This intensive three-day program will incorporate these new concepts and modalities in the treatment of the ravages of advanced periodontal disease. It will present the salient features, both surgically and prosthetically, incumbent in their successful management.

A sampling of subjects to be covered include: diagnosis and treatment planning, the impact of occlusion, treatment sequencing, prognosis, esthetics, periodontal plastic and regenerative procedures, sinus augmentation, the biologic width, periodontal biotypes, tooth preparation and impressions, laboratory considerations, long-term maintenance, and finally, a retrospective look at what we've learned over the past sixty years, which will hopefully help us address the present day dilemma and controversy surrounding teeth versus implants.
