Course Description:

This presentation will provide you with up-to-date information on achieving optimal treatment success through accurate diagnosis, consistent treatment planning, thorough debridement, and biofilm removal as well as calculated re-care. Recognition, diagnosis, treatment planning, case presentation/education, instrumentation, and re-care/monitoring are key elements of success in recognizing and treating the periodontally susceptible patient as well as the patient with active periodontal disease. The second day will consist of four hands-on workshops that will encompass traditional manual instrumentation, advanced manual instrumentation, ultrasonic instrumentation, and instrument sharpening.

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

•  Provide the highest level of preventive, therapeutic, and maintenance care for your patients

• Calibrate non-surgical periodontal therapy and periodontal maintenance within your practice

•  Identify risk factors leading to periodontal disease susceptibility and/or active periodontal disease

•  Adequately "educate to motivate" your patients to change their behavior

•  Maximize case presentation and acceptance
