Dr. Thomas Sollecito, Chairman and Professor of Oral Medicine at Penn Dental Medicine, has been inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, USA Section. The induction took place at the College’s 82nd Annual Convocation, held in Las Vegas, Nev., on October 10, 2011.
The College is an honorary organization that awards fellowships to dental professionals for outstanding and meritorious service to the profession and community. Fellows in the College continually strive to maintain and elevate the dignity of the profession through the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct and are enjoined to recognize their responsibility to participate in the affairs of society as citizens in their community and throughout the world.
Approximately 300 dentists from the United States were inducted into the College at this year’s ceremony. The College was formed in 1928 to advance the science and art of dentistry for the health and welfare of the public; to bring together the world’s outstanding members of the dental profession for the exchange of dental knowledge; to encourage the growth of the profession; and to promote cordial relations among dentists worldwide. Currently, there are more than 11,000 members worldwide with representative chapters in more than 80 countries.
