On April 22, 2010, Penn Dental Medicine and the Vernon J. Brightman Research Society presented the 19th Annual Oral Health Fair in the Robert Schattner Henry Schein Atrium. The annual event celebrates Penn Dental Medicine’s long-standing tradition of excellence in student research. Throughout the year, students perform research with the guidance of faculty mentors and present posters with their findings for members of the Penn Dental Medicine community and a team of independent faculty judges. Fourteen Oral Health Fair Award and five Community Oral Health students competed in the event. The winners include:

Gardner will represent Penn Dental Medicine at the ADA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Program in Orlando, Fl., October 8-10, 2010.

Avi Sher (D’12) was awarded second place with preceptor Dr. Fusun Ozer, Clinical Associate of Restorative Dentistry, for a poster titled, Dentin Bond Strength to Decalcified Root Surfaces.
