Vincent Mosimann

Philadelphia – Penn Dental Medicine is pleased to welcome the addition of Vincent Mosimann, President and Chairman of the Board of Bien-Air Holding SA, to its Board of Overseers. Mosimann’s nomination to a three-year renewable term was approved by the University of Pennsylvania Board of Trustees as its June meeting, and he joined the Board of Overseers in August.

Bien-Air is a privately held medical instrument manufacturer based in Bienne, Switzerland. This family-owned company, founded in 1959 by Mosimann’s father, has grown to be a worldwide leader in the design and development of specialized dental and microsurgical instruments, known for the efficiency and quality of its products. In 2001, a new division of the Company, Bien Air Surgery, was formed. This division develops products for ENT, neuro, spine and facial plastic surgery. Both Bien-Air Dental and Surgery are focused on advancing the company’s vision to provide adapted specialist services in the respective markets. Bien Air products are distributed through its eight subsidiaries located in China, Japan, US/Canada, Spain, Italy, UK, Germany, France, and Russia, and to another 70+ plus countries via exclusive and non-exclusive importers.

Mr. Mosimann is trained as a mechanical engineer with specialization in biomedical and micro mechanics, and he has attended several engineering schools in the Jura Region of Switzerland.

“Mr. Mosimann’s knowledge and expertise of the dental industry globally and his perspective as an entrepreneur will be an invaluable addition to our Board,” says Penn Dental Medicine Dean Denis Kinane.

With the addition of Mosimann, the Board now includes 19 members. The Penn Dental Medicine Board of Overseers provides volunteer leadership to the School and acts as a sounding board and advisory resource for the Dean and other administrative leaders, stewarding the missions of both the School and the University.
