Alan Shaw, DDS
Dr. Alan Shaw has had a distinguished professional career as Chairman of the Department of Dental Medicine and Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia. He also served as an examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for six years. Additionally, Dr. Shaw was honored with Awards of Merit from both the General Alumni Society and the Dental Alumni Society of the University of Pennsylvania. He currently maintains a private practice while teaching oral surgery residents and students at Penn Dental Medicine.

John Lankalis, DDS, MD
Dr. John B. Lankalis, DDS, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Pharmacology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he also serves as Director of the Predoctoral Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, followed by residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Lankalis is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and practices with Penn Medicine, where his clinical interests include complex dental extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, biopsies, oral pathology, and other surgical procedures. In addition to his clinical practice, he is actively involved in dental education, research, and mentoring dental students at Penn Dental Medicine.

Brian Ford, DMD, MD
Dr. Ford is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and an Assistant Professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery/pharmacology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He practices at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. After receiving both his dental and medical degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, he went on to complete his surgical residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). He is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.) and is regularly invited to give lectures on both the local and national level. Dr. Ford’s area of expertise includes dental implants, complex bone grafting, and anesthesia.

Steven Wang, DMD, MD, MPH
Dr. Wang is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and an Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery/Pharmacology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He is also the Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program. He practices at the hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and the Penn Dental Family Practice. Dr. Wang received both his dental and medical degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his surgical residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Wang’s areas of expertise and passion include orthognathic surgery, pathology and reconstruction, exodontia, dental implants, and bone grafting.
