The University of Pennsylvania and the School of Dental Medicine strive to ensure the health and well-being of all members of our community and visitors by enforcing local, state, and national guidance regarding COVID-19 safety protocols.
MASK WEARING
As Penn Dental Medicine is a health care center, masking is required for all while inside the school. Either a disposable or cloth mask is acceptable; KN95 masks are optional. Mask use while outdoors on campus is not required for those who are fully vaccinated.
OTHER SAFETY MEASURES
All visitors are required to complete a daily COVID-19 prescreening evaluation prior to arriving on campus through PennOpen Pass Campus. The screening will generate either a Green Pass required to attend camp and enter University buildings, or a Red Pass which advises the individual to seek care from a health care provider.
How PennOpen Pass Campus works:
- Before arriving on campus, please access this website, Penn OpenPass,
https://openpass.dental.upenn.edu/, by mobile device or computer. You may use the verbal attestation process if you do not have a mobile device, computer, or access to a computer printer.
- Answer a few questions about your COVID-19 symptoms, exposure, and if you have tested positive recently.
- If you are cleared, you will receive a Green PennOpen Pass on your device or computer. If you are not cleared, please stay home. Contact your primary care provider. Do not plan to come to campus until cleared by your provider.
- Display your Green Pass anytime you are asked by a Penn screener on campus. Wear a face mask, keep physical distance, and follow other public health directions.
You do not need to install PennOpen Pass Campus on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. PennOpen Pass Campus is a mobile friendly website that runs in your phone or computer’s web browser, just like any other website that you would visit. PennOpen Pass Campus does not access your personal data on your mobile device or computer.
If you are under 18 years of age, completing PennOpen Pass Campus assumes your parents and/or guardians have provided consent in the Penn program in which you are involved.
Using PennOpen Pass Campus by mobile device, computer, or verbal attestation is part of the COVID-19 public health commitment you make when you are on Penn’s campus, regardless of your vaccination status.
We share a collective responsibility to protect ourselves and each other from COVID-19. PennOpen Pass Campus is designed to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading within the Penn community. Thank you for your cooperation. Welcome to Penn!
