Video Library of 4th Global Oral Health and Climate Action Conference Released
Philadelphia — Over 10 days, Penn Dental Medicine hosted 24 sessions with more than 100 speakers from throughout the world during its 4th Global Oral Health and Climate Action (GOHCA) Conference, held in conjunction with the COP30 UN Climate Conference that took place in Belém, Brazil, November 2025. Now, the full video library of the presentations is available for viewing online.
The aim of the 4th GOHCA was to set out key themes and issues facing the oral health community and dentistry aligned with the WHO Global strategy and action plan on oral health 2023–2030. A foundational element for structuring the program and discussions was a model for sustainable dentistry, which involves the pillars of preparedness, protective prevention, safeguarding planetary and human health for future generations, and foresight.
“This model emphasizes sustainability as an evolving concept, as well as a continuous and dynamic process, and should not be considered in isolation to the planetary health boundaries,” notes Dr. Julian Fisher, Director of Oral & Planetary Health within Penn Dental Medicine’s Center for Integrative Global Oral Health. “The oral health community cannot afford to watch and wait for threats to arrive on its doorstep or it will be faced with the consequences of late-stage and costly interventions for which we are ill-prepared.”
