Course Description
Atrophy of alveolar ridges following tooth extraction is a common fact and can severely compromise the esthetic and functional rehabilitation of patients. Numerous options of biomaterials and surgical techniques for alveolar ridge management can be overwhelming for the clinician and can lead to improper clinical management. This course is developed to review critical concepts in alveolar ridge management.

Theofilos Koutouzis DDS, MS, earned his Certificate and Master’s degree in Periodontics from Gothenburg University, Sweden and from the University of Florida, College of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr Koutouzis is Associate Professor at the Department of Periodontology and Director of Advanced Specialty Education in Periodontology at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He has published research on periodontal disease management and dental implant dentistry.
