Description

For implants in the esthetic zone, results are judged by pink and white esthetics, not just radiographic evidence of crestal bone stability. They present significant challenges on many levels. What method is best? When should it be done? What materials should be used? Best way to provisionalize? What is the expected result? This presentation will address some of these issues and present some guidelines and evaluation criteria for clinical decision making for optimal results and maximum patient benefit. It will include a discussion of placement protocol, loading protocol, augmentation procedures and provisionalization options including long- term results.

Objectives

  • Differentiate between various placement and loading protocols, with criteria and guidelines for selection
  • Understand hard and soft tissue requirements for esthetic implants
  • Have guidelines for selection of regenerative materials for esthetic implants
  • Be able to communicate timelines and treatment expectations to patients
