Trauma from Occlusion and Dental Mobility have been poorly studied by the scientific literature, especially in recent years. Nevertheless dental mobility is one of the most obvious symptom that a patient can experience when is affected by severe periodontitis.

We increasingly observe a tendency to replace mobile teeth with more stable titanium screws, but this is not the clinical and scientific approach we want to offer to our patients.

Particular attention will be paid to interdisciplinary treatment which may include simple or complex occlusal, orthodontic and prosthetic therapies.

Objectives

• Evidence and limitation of trauma from occlusion literature
• Importance of occlusion in Stage III and IV Periodontitis
• Differential diagnosis of tooth mobility
• Use of different kinds of treatment modalities to manage occlusal problems

Dr. Rodolfo Gianserra graduated in Dentistry cum laude at University Sapienza of Rome. Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Periodontology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia USA, where he served as Clinical Assistant Professor and Visiting Professor.

Active member of SIdP. Board Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology. Active member of the American Academy of Osseointegration. International member of the American Academy of Periodontology. Speaker at national and international Meetings and Courses. Author of scientific original publications on topics related to periodontal and implant clinical research.

Full time private practice in Rome and Campobasso in the “Gianserra Associati” Interdisciplinary dental clinics.
