Class of 2020 & Class of 2021 Commencement Celebration

All graduates of the Penn Dental Medicine Class of 2020 and Class of 2021 are invited along with their families back to the School immediately following the University ceremony for refreshments, photos, and tours.

Advanced registration is required for all attendees.

For the safety and wellbeing of the Penn community, graduates and their guests will be required to complete the PennOpen Campus pre-screening on the day of Commencement to obtain a green PennOpen Pass. Be prepared to show your green PennOpen Pass to gain access to Franklin Field and to the School.
The University also requires visitors to campus and to University-sponsored events and gatherings to be fully vaccinated and to comply with mask requirements. Please see the most up-to-date information about the University’s guidelines for visitors to campus.

About the Commencement Ceremony

The University is pleased to host the in-person Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2020 and the Class of 2021 Master’s and Doctoral graduates! The Penn community looks forward to this long-awaited celebration, so please mark your calendar—Sunday, May 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Franklin Field.
Graduates from the two classes will be seated on the field, and guests are welcome to join and will be seated in the stands in Franklin Field. Angela Duckworth, PhD, Penn Professor of Psychology and the Rosa Lee and Egbert Chang Professor, will be the morning’s keynote speaker.
There will also be a live webcast of the ceremony for family members and guests who cannot travel to Philadelphia. Our plans are contingent upon there being no major changes in public health guidelines.
Advance registration and proof of vaccination will be required for all attendees. If you plan on joining us in-person in Franklin Field on Sunday, May 22nd, you must register no later than Friday, May 6th.
Graduates – be sure to order your regalia by Friday, April 1 through Grad Express.
