Description

The placement of implants in the aesthetic zone is one of the most challenging techniques in implantology. It is an area that patients are acutely aware of as it is highly visible to even the least discerning patient. For this reason we have to ensure that we understand the biology of the socket following tooth extraction as well as how best to mange the placement of implants in this area. There are a wide variety of techniques each of which relies on specific anatomical diagnoses to achieve the best possible outcome. This lecture will go through these techniques as well as how to select the right technique for the situation in order to achieve predictability, reproduce-ability; and most importantly; long term aesthetic stability.

Objectives

  • When to place an immediate implant
  • When to choose an alternative technique
  • How to maximize the use of your CBCT to make the correct treatment choice
  • Soft tissue augmentation
  • Socket shield techniques including the latest published step by step technique management of the soft tissue with custom abutment and provisionalization as well as impression techniques.
