The Penn Dental Medicine Department of Periodontics offers a one-year implant, periodontics, and advanced restorative program, designed for international scholars who practice or are planning to practice dentistry focused on periodontics and surgical and restorative implantology. This program allows dentists to advance their knowledge in the areas of:

  • Advanced surgical and implant dentistry
  • Esthetic considerations for implant dentistry
  • Prosthetics for advanced cases in the natural dentition
  • Occlusion
  • Treatment of periodontal disease
  • Research methodology

The goal of the program is to expose the scholars to the most contemporary information via special lectures, literature reviews, core curriculum courses, and hands-on sessions and clinical observation of advanced surgical procedures.

The program is two semesters, running September through May. Scholars receive a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the program. Applicants must be able to communicate proficiently in the English language.
