Professional Biography

Dr. Cassandra Gafford is the Clinical Director of Community Oral Health Sites and Assistant Professor of Community Oral Health at Penn Dental Medicine. She graduated from Haverford College in 2009, where she received a B.A. in Classical Culture and Society. She then earned her D.M.D from Penn Dental Medicine in 2013 with Honors in both Clinical Dentistry and Community Oral Health, receiving the Dr. Earle Bank Hoyt Teaching Award. After completing a GPR at Abington Memorial Hospital, she worked in private practice as a general dentist while teaching part-time at Penn Dental Medicine. She was an Assistant Group Leader from 2018-2025 and was the Director of Patient Admissions Rotations from 2023-2025. In addition to her role as Clinical Director of COH, she treats patients at Penn Dental Family Practice.
