Professional Biography

Dr. Joanie Jean is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She earned her B.A. degree in Biology and Japanese Language, Literature and Culture from Swarthmore College in 2011. After receiving her DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2019, Dr. Jean completed her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Connecticut/Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in 2021. Prior to joining Penn Dental Medicine, Dr. Jean worked in private practice.  In addition to her faculty responsibilities, Dr. Jean also treats pediatric patients at the Penn Dental Family Practice at Locust Walk.
