Tuition Fee: Full-time attendance at Penn Dental Medicine.

General Fee: Assessed to all undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, and directly funds Penn’s non-instructional student support services. The General Fee for full-time students provides them with full access to a wide variety of services and resources, including counseling and wellness, multicultural resource centers, student activities, recreation and fitness, career services, learning support, and much more.

Technology Fee: Established to advance and improve computer technology at Penn Dental Medicine.

Instrument Management Service: Required instrumentation and sterilization services.

Dental Clinical Fee: Covers a variety of expenses related to clinical practice including disposable gowns, lab coats, materials and other expenses.

Room and Board: Estimate which reflects an average off-campus residence.

Books and Supplies: Estimated cost for required textbooks and supplies.

Personal: Personal expenses, cell phone allowance, annual immunizations, etc.

Additional Requirements: Covers cost for attendance to courses and meetings

Transportation: Covers expenses related to getting to and from school.

Computer and other Equipment: Covers the cost of software and additional required equipment.

Health Insurance: Covers insurance through the University of Pennsylvania (All full time students are required to have adequate health insurance).

Clinical Fee: Covers usage of Student Health Services.

Ortho Technology Fee: Covers the maintenance and upkeep of the high technological instrumentation and equipment used in the Orthodontic Clinic.

Ortho Course Fee: Covers the cost of the Extended Clinical Training for the 25th and 26th months of the Orthodontics Program.

The health insurance is based on single person coverage at the University of Pennsylvania. If you need family coverage the fee will be higher and you may need to request a budget increase. Please contact the Office of Student Life to discuss the process necessary to apply for a budget increase.
