Philadelphia – Two fellows within the School’s Center for Innovation & Precision (CiPD) – one current and one former – were selected to be part of the most recent cohort of the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR) Mentoring an Inclusive Network for a Diverse Workforce of the Future (AADOCR MIND the Future) program. Hagar Kenawy, a current fellow in the CiPD NIDCR T90 Postdoctoral Trainee and Dr. Yuan Liu, Adjunct Assistant Professor at Penn Dental Medicine and the inaugural CiPD-Colgate-Palmolive Fellow, are among the 12-member class, selected from a national pool of applicants.

Dr. Yuan Li

This is the fifth cohort of the AADOCR MIND the Future, a National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR)-funded program designed to establish a mentoring network that will support a diverse pool of early career investigators, including individuals from diverse backgrounds, in developing independent research careers dedicated to improving dental, oral and craniofacial health. The program offers one year of educational activities and interactive opportunities between mentors and mentees to support the development of a diverse oral and craniofacial biomedical research workforce. Once the mentees complete the program in September 2025, they are able to continue as program alumni and remain engaged in the program.
