Application Requirements and Procedures
The application will open in mid-October 2025 for the 2026-2027 academic year. We will offer two rounds of admission.
- Round 1 Deadline: February 6, 2026
- Round 2 Deadline: April 10, 2026
All application materials and documents become property of Penn Dental Medicine and will not be returned to the applicant.
MOHS Program Application – All applicants must submit an application through the through the Penn Dental Medicine (PDM) applicant portal by either February 6, 2026 or April 10, 2026 for the class entering August 2026.
Application Fee – A non-refundable application fee of $100 will be collected at the time of application. No application fee waivers are available.
Two Letters of Evaluation — One letter must come from the dean or director of the applicant’s dental school on letterhead stationery with original signature. One letter must come from a faculty member of the same institution on letterhead stationery with original signature. Letters of evaluation from evaluators will be requested electronically by the applicant while completing the application in the applicant portal.
Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Score – An official TOEFL score is required for all applicants (including native English speakers) who have received their dental degree from a non-U.S. dental school. Native English speakers may substitute the DAT Reading Comprehension score in lieu of the TOEFL exam. Valid official TOEFL scores that are no older than two years are required for admission.
NBDE Scores – Not required but may be self-reported on the application and are not used for admission consideration.
Official Transcripts and ECE Course-by- Course Evaluation– Applicants who received their post-secondary education in countries other than the U.S. or Canada must have sealed official transcripts mailed from the granting institution to the mailing address below. If official transcripts are not written in the English language, an original certified English translation is required. Unofficial transcripts will not be accepted. Unfortunately, international transcripts cannot be sent electronically.
In addition to official transcripts from all international post-secondary schools attended, applicants must submit an Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) Course by Course evaluation from those schools in order to be considered for admission. Please review the ECE® official documentation requirements carefully, as they vary by country.

Curriculum Vitae – Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae that includes: education (undergraduate/postgraduate coursework); work experience; research and scholarly activities; presentations, manuscripts and bibliographies; extracurricular activities; and professional achievements.
Application Process
The MOHS Admissions Selection Committee will review completed applications on a rolling basis. We recommend that applicants submit completed applications with all documents well in advance of the deadlines for interview consideration. A class size of approximately up to six students is anticipated for the class entering August 2026. All admitted candidates with be notified by email.
Admitted candidates must submit a non-refundable enrollment deposit which can be paid through the PDM applicant portal. Enrollment deposits will be credited toward the first semester tuition payment. Admitted students will be required to undergo four criminal background checks, complete several online compliance courses and meet University health screening and immunization requirements prior to matriculation.
