Integrative oral health. Can we afford not to?

Course Description

Emerging healthcare systems are rapidly moving away from traditional care models. This development demands we transform how oral health care professionals are being educated, how they practice, and how they participate in achieving better health outcomes for all. Unless we acknowledge and address these changes, our profession will not be able to deliver optimal care to our patients. This presentation will outline how the Center for Integrative Global Oral Health will tackle some of the most urgent issues facing our profession today and over the next decade.

Learning Objectives

Participants will gain an understanding of:

  • the importance of integrating oral health within overall health;
  • the necessity of improving existing oral health care educational and practice models;
  • how oral health care professionals can improve the overall health of their patients;
  • the importance of a global perspective on oral health.
