Professional Biography

Dr. Mayher serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Restorative Dentistry and a Primary Care Unit Director in the Division of Restorative Dentistry at Penn Dental Medicine. After earning his B.A. from Marquette University in 1974, he went on to obtain his D.M.D. from Fairleigh Dickinson University, School of Dentistry in 1978. Upon graduation, Dr. Mayher joined the US Navy Dental Corps, serving as a Dental Officer from 1978 to 1981. Prior to joining Penn Dental Medicine, Dr. Mayher held an Adjunct Faculty position at Boston University School of Dental Medicine from 2005 to 2017. He joined the faculty at Penn Dental Medicine in 2012 and has served as a PCU Group Leader since 2018. Dr. Mayher maintained a practice in general dentistry in Haddonfield, N.J., from 1985 until 2020.
