Sensitivity, Specificity, Positive and Negative Predictive Values

When you suspect you have the flu and go to the doctor, they will give you a diagnostic test that will determine your course of treatment. The test result will indicate whether or not you have the flu. How do you know that your positive result is not a false positive or if your negative result is not a false negative? Check out our next video to learn how sensitivity, specificity, positive, and negative predictive values can help you quantify uncertainties about a diagnostic test.
